We are always amazed when we see the complete list of components (http://www.suntan.com.hk/products.html) and parts that are in some of today’s smartphones. Besides being the ‘latest and the greatest’ as far as technology goes, the parts are also getting smaller with every iteration and release.

Take, for example, the Apple iPhone 4S. Looking beyond the plastic enclosures, the LCD screens and the cameras, there are hundreds of surface mount board level components needed to build just one iPhone 4S including many types of capacitors, surely small size chip types preferrable, series including ceramic capacitor, tantalum capacitor, electrolytic capacitor... and different chip diode, LEDS and magnetic components. Some are needed for RF purposes, some for switching, and others for power management. Even more components are needed for memory and app processing.

In all, this list is not much different from the requirements of past iPhones or other smartphones, however, the size of the components and the vast array of components required will never cease to amaze us, in this way, Suntan always try to do better .

Suntan is going to releases New X2 EMI Suppression Film Capacitors With Increased Voltage Rating to 310 VAC and a wide range of lead pitches and capacitance values with VDE & ENEC and UL safety approvals.

While most standard EMI suppression film capacitors provide a voltage rating of 275 VAC to 305 VAC, Suntan's new TS08S offer designers an increased voltage rating while continuing to meet safety approvals and maintaining the same compact dimensions.

Utilizing the latest film technology to offer lead pitches from 10 mm to 27.5 mm, capacitance values from 0.001 μFto 2.2μF,  the capacitors are optimized for standard across the line applications (50/60 Hz) in power supplies, electronic ballasts, EMI filters, CRT and LCD TVs and monitors, and white goods.

Climatic tested according to EN 60384-14(40/110/56), the encapsulation of the devices consists of a flame retardant UL-class 94 V-0 plastic case, which is epoxy resin sealed. Supplied loose in box or taped on ammopack or reel, the lead (Pb)-free capacitors are RoHS-compliant and feature tinned wire leads.

Samples and production quantities of the new X2 EMI suppression film capacitors are available now, with lead times of 8 to 10 weeks for larger orders. Pricing varies by capacitance value and lead pitch.

What is a tact switch in electronics?
A tact switch is type of switch that is only on when the button is pressed. As soon as you release the button, the circuit is broken. Think of the keys on a keyboard.
What does Linear/Tactile mean?
The linear switches have an almost consistent force through the entire stroke of the key. This means that when you first start pressing down on the key all the way until you completely bottom the key out as far as it can go, the force you feel at your finger remains the same. Not much feedback besides when you feel the "thud" at the bottom.

The tactile switches have a slightly elevated force around the midpoint of the stroke of the key. So, when you have pressed the key down about halfway, the force increases slightly for a brief moment, and then goes back to normal. This gives your fingers an indication that the key has been pressed so you can stop pressing the key and let up to move on to another key faster. Think of it as a "click" feel without the "click" sound.
