A varistor is a type of resistor with a significantly non-ohmic current-voltage characteristic. Which have symmetrial voltage-current characteristics and unparalleled large peak current capability are used for absorption of  transient voltage, suppression of pulse noise and circuit voltage stabilization.

The most common type of varistor is the Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV). This contains a ceramic mass of zinc oxide grains, in a matrix of other metal oxides (such as small amounts of bismuth, cobalt, manganese) sandwiched between two metal plates (the electrodes). The boundary between each grain and its neighbour forms a diode junction, which allows current to flow in only one direction. The mass of randomly oriented grains is electrically equivalent to a network of back-to-back diode pairs, each pair in parallel with many other pairs.

Also referred to as a condenser, a capacitor is a passive electrical component widely used to store electricity as an electrical charge. 
There are many types of capacitors available on the market. You can find very small ones available as capacitor beads utilized in resonance circuits. 
Large power factor correction capacitors are also available from very small to huge capacitors and everything in between, you would find a wide range of capacitors. However, they all serve one function and that is to store electrical charge.
 
The simplest type of capacitor available consists of 2 parallel conductive plates. These plates are separated via dielectric, an insulating material. 
This insulating layer interrupts the flow of DC current via the capacitor. Instead of DC current, a voltage across the plates is present in the form of an electrical charge.
Conductive plates are available in various shapes such as circular, cylindrical and rectangular. The insulating layer is either in the form of waxed paper, Air, Plastic or even in certain type of liquid gel. 
 
Electrical charge can be of two types namely positive and negative. Positive charge is present in the form of protons and negative charge in the form of electrons. The positive charge collects on a plate as soon as a voltage is placed across a capacitor. This is followed by a corresponding negative charge accumulation on the other plate. For each particle of positive charge a mining at one plate, a charge from similar will depart from- ve plate. The plates charge neutral. This is a potential different obtained from charge existing between two plates. The amount of charge that was deposited on the plates and the amount of capacitance the capacitor posses.
Capacitance is defined as the electrical property of a capacitor. It is the measure of the ability of capacitors for storing an electrical charge on two plates. In case, a voltage of (V) volts is connected across 2 plates capacitors, a positive electrical charge (2) will be present on one plate in coulombs and a negative charge on the other.This indicates that the capacitor will possess a capacitance valve equivalent to the amount of charge divided by voltage running across. This will proved the capacitance equation of (C=QV).

A good capacitor will have high dielectric resistance as well as zero plate resistance. This results in the charge flowing across the plates remaining constant for an indefinite period of time as soon as the source voltage was removed.

With the trend of portable electronic products, chip product demand gradually increase, Tantalum is no exception. It is learned that the traditional lead tantalum capacitor market demand has decreased year by year, chip tantalum capacitor market demand will increase year by year. Dealers said that despite the high prices of tantalum capacitors because of the market share in the capacitance ceramic capacitors and aluminum eroded, but also the development of its own saved for the long-term stability of the environment, which cater to the development trend of electronic products, chip on their products dominated by reversing the very most of the market.

It is learned that global chip tantalum electrolytic capacitors of the chip rate has been 71% in 1995, the current development of the chip rate was over 90%. Its greatest application in the field of mobile phones, accounting for about 36.2%, use increased from 5 to 20pcs on each cell phone. Another AV audio-visual products and notebook computer is an important application areas of chip tantalum capacitor, which accounted for 32% and 15.1%.

The industry has said that prices of tantalum capacitors is the major issues of restricting its market share, it is understood that the greatest threat to its current MLCC, the market reflects that, at present, MLCC and tantalum capacitors is between 1.0 to 100uF market competition. However, tantalum capacitors inherent performance advantages or other products can not be replaced, in some key areas of high demand, circuit designers will take tantalum capacitor as the first choice.

Reporters on the spot market from understanding the situation, because of higher prices tantalum capacitors, ceramic capacitors than aluminum capacitors and small market share. According to the dealers, in recent years, tantalum capacitor lost 10% of the market share, of which 6% of the ceramic capacitor occupies 3% of the aluminum capacitor possession, other devices accounted for 1%.
